Membership details
Notes from the Membership Secretary Autumn 2025.
Hi there, if you are interested in joining our club, I can give you any information you need.
I need to make sure you are aware of the subscription fees, medical requirements and any other ‘admin’ related to our branch.
We are a branch of The British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC). We are number 0887 based in Alsager. Known as ASAC, Alsager Sub Aqua Club was established in 1976. To dive with us you will need to be a member of BSAC.
This brings me on to fees, BSAC have a variety of levels of fees which are available from their website BSAC.COM. These depend on diving qualifications and student status.
When you join BSAC the site also collects our annual branch fee of £100.
The first time you join our club we also charge a one off joining fee of £100.
Both these are halved for students.
The treasurer will collect the joining fee online.
As well as the above you will need equipment which we can assist with on a loan basis whilst training in the pool.
BSAC require that all members are medically fit to dive. A medical declaration must be renewed annually on the BSAC website. This is important but don’t assume that any medical condition will rule you out.
If you’re still not sure, for £20 our trainers will organise a try dive in the pool which can be recovered if you decide to join.
Good luck and have safe fun.
