Club Dive to Dosthill quarry 27/6/26

diving -> diary

We are planning a return to the delights of Dosthill Quarry (B77 1LL) on Saturday 27/06/2026

For those who have never visited this site:

Changing rooms like Capenwray = No (nearest fit is your car).

Café like Capenwray = No (burger van as a rule).

Toilets like Capenwray = Definitely no (Portaloo).

As far as Capenwray = Depends where your based of course.

As clear as Capenwray = Like any UK site, good & bad days but if keep out of the depths it tends to be OK.

Safety facilities as Capenwray = This is a managed site and as such all the necessary is readily available.

Cost similar at £20.

Ok so Capenwray seems to win in most cases and indeed that’s undeniable.

However it’s good for your diving experience to be rounded and varied.

We will be looking at the suitability of this site for some rescue training

Max depth is app 22M

Platforms at various depths near the entry, but then drops down toward max depth.

Typical plan would be enter and get comfortable on the 6m platform.

Drop to desired depth and follow side around in a clockwise direction.

When get to far side you will be naturally guided to a shallower depth.

Continue clockwise climbing to 6m whereby you will again meet the platforms and ladder exit.

Most important I believe there is a good pub nearby!

All are welcome but Ocean Divers should perhaps discuss with DO/TO.

Like Stoney, Dosthill now operate a booking system.

Individuals will need to book their slot in advance of the day.

Let’s say anyone who wishes to attend book by 21/06/2026.

Assume a booking slot of 9am https://dosthillquarry.com/product/diver-day-pass/

Please report back to me when done so as we need to know who to expect and plan accordingly.
